Going to the Chapel

My sister-in-law simultaneously made 2 of my life-long dreams come true a few weeks ago: 1) To dress my kids up as ringbearer and flowergirl and 2) to be a bridesmaid myself! We got to go spend a weekend in Denton to hang out with her and party it up at her wedding and it was awesome!
Here is McKinley and I coming down the aisle:
Here is Finn running down the aisle. I was very nervous that the kids would ruin the wedding by being kid-like, but they actually didn't do to bad (aided by many m&m's and suckers, of course). Finn only tried to run up to the alter during the ceremony once!:Here is the whole Taylor clan:

Before & After

I've been logging more than my fair share of HGTV hours lately. This always results in a room makeover of some sort. I set my sights on Kinley's bedroom.
I decorated her room not long after we moved in here, but I don't think my vision fully came together. I wanted this sort of really bright, orange & pink thing going on. It just wasn't really working:

I decided that Kinley needed something a bit softer and more girly. I still have a few finishing touches to do, but I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out!

Happy Halloween!

We had a lot of activities this week and Finn refused to wear a costume to ALL of them! He was adamant about not wearing one (he just wants to "be Finnigan"), so I didn't force the issue, but on Halloween night, we put him in costume without him realizing it. He was such a cute little motorcycle dude!:

Kinley was an adorable butterfly. She loved trick-or-treating. In fact, I think Finn wore out sooner than she did:

Here's a pic of all the kids dressed up Halloween night for trick-or-treating:

Surprise Surprise

I am about 95% sure that McKinley is a lefty.
It started when she was a newborn and she showed a serious preference for her left thumb. Now that she uses utensils (she LOVES to use a fork and spoon. Finn didn't really want to feed himself until he was 2!) she always gingerly holds her them in her left hand as she tries to scoop up food. My case rests with the fact that she scribbles with her left as well.
This is sort of a shock to me. I was expecting a mini-me in all forms from McKinley (we are both Virgo, Libra rising--in fact, everyone in our house has Libra rising. Kismet, huh?). But lefty I am not.
I associate Lefties with a certain mental state. To me, they are more cunning, more artistic. Scott is one, after all. In fact, nearly each generation in both of our extended families has lefties. Genetic? I don't know how that works.
Seeing Kiki as a lefty is requiring me to make a major mental shift. She is not me. She is she and I really don't know who that is yet. But it's so exciting to find out!

I Was a Baby Once Too

God knows where any of my baby pictures are (I was the 2nd child after all), but I snapped a pic of this pic when I was at my grandparent's house in August (That's my grandma Linda with me). I'm guessing I am about one year because I look about the same size as Kinley does now. In fact, I think we look a lot alike in this picture, excepting that I have infinitely more hair.
