Valentine Banners & My Very First Giveaway!

I have been rather excited about Valentine's Decorating this year. Pink has certainly grown on me since I had a baby girl!

Here's my kitchen:

I just finished this banner. Spelling out all of "Happy Valentine's Day" seemed daunting, so I just went for "X" and "O":

This plate was so simple with the Silhouette! I just bought a plate from the Dollar Tree and cut the vinyl for the middle. Took less than 5 minutes:

I used the flowers to decorate for Thanksgiving, but I thought they complemented the existing colors of my kitchen, so they stayed. Here's a Mod-Podged X & O I made last year at a craft night:



I made a second banner too. This one is for my mother-in-law's classroom:

Two Cool Things

Well, it looks like I am almost to 50 followers! And they aren't even all family members! I think that deserves something special. A giveaway perhaps?

Yes, I am preparing my first giveaway. I've been lucky to win a few in blogland in the last few months and it's about time I give a little back. Look for it in the next week, after I hit 50!

Also, I spend a good percentage of my time cruising the internet for inspiration, ideas and just to see what everyone else is up to. I LOVE linky parties because they bring our little crafty community together so well, so I've decided to start my own!

I wish that we really take the time to be thankful for what we have this year.

We have a lot of traditions building up to Christmas, but on Christmas morning, we usually just get some coffee and go straight for presents.

Duh! A Silhouette!


4. How do you make the holidays special without spending any money?
This year we started a new tradition of making a construction paper chain, and each day we rip a link off and do whatever activity is written inside. Examples: play a boardgame together, drink cocoa by the fire, eat a candlelit dinner, etc.


5. What games did you play with your family growing up?
We did an advent calendar.


6. What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood?
Advent calendar, opening one present on Christmas Eve,

7. Where would you go for a Christmas/Hanukkah-away-from-home trip?
Disney World!
